El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa engaged in inappropriate relationships, gave preferential treatment and improperly tried to influence internal affairs investigations, according to findings released Thursday by the Board of County Commissioners. In May, El Paso County Commissioners received a letter from the three commanders in the Sheriffs' Office that contained employment-related complaints.
