Carpentry business to pay more than $220K in back wages

An Indio-based carpentry business has agreed to pay more than $220,000 in both overtime and damages to 29 workers after an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour division found the company failed to pay them adequately during an Irvine home-building contract. The investigation found Next Level Door & Millwork Inc. failed to pay workers for all hours worked between June 2012 and June 2014, including time spent shuttling materials to and from the shop and job sites.
