Ashland seeks grant for theater renovation

Oct. 21, town council unanimously supported an application requesting $600,000 of grant funding from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development's Industrial Revitalization Fund. If the grant gets state approval, the town would have to provide 50-50 matching funds of its own, putting the restoration budget for the circa-1948 theater, gifted to the town roughly one year ago, at $1.2 million.
