On December 9, 2014, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously agreed that the Fair Labor Standards Act does not entitle employees to compensation for time spent going through mandatory security checks at the end of their work shifts. The ruling was issued in a case initiated by warehouse workers who sought compensation for their time - sometimes up to 30 minutes - spent undergoing security screenings before and after their shifts.
