Unemployment in the seven-county Pittsburgh metropolitan statistical area fell to 4.8 percent in November, the first time the jobless rate has fallen below 5 percent in more than five and a half years but still higher than it was before the recent recession. The figures released this morning by the state Department of Labor and Industry showed there are still more unemployed people in the region than there were back in 2008, when unemployment was at the same level, because the region's labor force has grown over the last half-decade.
