The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area's unemployment rate fell to 6 percent in November, bringing the region's jobless numbers to their lowest levels since June 2008. The three-tenths of a percentage point drop still leaves the area with the highest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate among the state's 14 metropolitan areas for the 56th straight month, the state Department of Labor and Industry announced Tuesday.
