Southern Foodways Alliance Features Nashville in Its 'Counter Histories' Series

Last year the Southern Foodways Alliance marked the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by gathering and sharing stories of the desegregation of lunch counters across the South. They selected five Southern cities that had significance to the civil rights struggle between 1957 and 1963: Jackson, Miss.; Rock Hill, S.C.; Durham, N.C.; Cambridge, Md.; and Nashville.
