While some aldermen seem intent on moving forward with a $2.55 million-maximum purchase of Cadence Bank's Main Street location, a financing issue could manifest in the middle of the month: Starkville has yet to receive bids on surplus property needed to pay for the structure. City officials confirmed Friday that Starkville has yet to receive bids for its current administrative home and lagoon property in the northern portion of the town.
