Unemployment drops to 4.8 percent in York County

Bolstered by work at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in York County and the York-Hanover metropolitan area fell to 4.8 percent in November, according to Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Year to year the unemployment rate for the local metropolitan area is down by 1.8 percentage points and is now a full percentage point lower than the national average of 5.8 percent, a report released Tuesday stated.
