Buffalo jobs: September gains in the private sector

The state Department of Labor reported Thursday that private-sector job growth in the Buffalo metropolitan area rose 0.5 percent in September compared to a year ago. The raw number shows an additional 2,600 were added to local payrolls in the year-over-year period.
