Hike in hunting, fishing licenses approved

The Tennessee Fish & Wildlife Commission has approved a request by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for an increase in the price of hunting/fishing licenses and other related licenses and fees. The license hikes will not go into effect until July 1, which means licenses can be renewed at their current cost when they expire Feb. 28. License can be renewed on-line or at most outdoors outlets starting Feb. 18. In addition to the increase in the license cost, the Commission passed a regulation requiring mountain bikers and off-road vehicle riders to purchase a permit when using Wildlife Management Areas.
