The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division yesterday signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to further the goals of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in prohibiting employment discrimination in the state and local government sector. The signing ceremony took place on Monday, March 2, at DOJ's headquarters in Washington, D.C., and included remarks from Assistant Attorney General Vanita Gupta of the Civil Rights Division and EEOC Chair Jenny Yang.
