State bill would add protections for pregnant workers

A bill introduced to the Legislature earlier this month that seeks to protect pregnant women from discrimination in the workplace will not come full term until, at best, the end of the current session in two years. While it is unusual for a piece of new legislation to pass on its first session, said state Rep. Ellen Story, D-Amherst, one of the bill's main sponsors, she also doesn't anticipate a lot of public opposition.
