Suit by fired whistle-blowing elevator mechanic is reinstated

Citing California's strong protections for whistle-blowers, a federal appeals court has reinstated a lawsuit by a South Bay elevator mechanic who said he was fired for reporting dangerous conditions in an elevator at a Nordstrom department store. William Lukov said Schindler Elevator Corp. dismissed him in February 2010, three days after the company pulled him off its team of Nordstrom elevator inspectors at the retailer's request.
