The York County Library System has agreed to pay more than $131,000 to the state Unemployment Compensation Fund to make up for an alleged shortfall in payments into the fund, along with interest and penalties, the library system's finance director said Wednesday. The matter stems from late 2009 or early 2010 when the Library Company of York, a predecessor to the current York County Library System, laid off between 20 and 24 employees after a grant expired, said Susan Davidson-Linton, the library system's director of finance and advancement.
