VA honorees bring relief to battered agency

For an agency that has been under intense fire for months, the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals are a welcome relief. The Department of Veterans Affairs had two winners of the awards, better known as Sammies, which are among the most prestigious given to federal employees.
