Rochester area unemployment rates drops to 5.8%

Rochester's economy continues to improve, with a drop in the unemployment rate and increases in private-sector and non-farm jobs last month, the state Department of Labor reported. The jobless rate was 5.8 percent in the Rochester metro area in August, down from 6.8 percent a year ago.
