Assemblymember Roger HernA ndez announced AB 1897 was signed by Governor Brown, mandating that employers assume liability even for third-party contractors. This bill provides that when companies use staffing agencies and other third party labor contractors to supply workers to perform the work of their business, the client employer remains responsible for certain basic labor protections.
