Additional funding awarded to assist workers after Cargill facility closing

The U.S. Department of Labor today announced a $953,415 National Emergency Grant incremental award so that approximately 405 workers affected by the closure of a Cargill Meat Solutions beef processing plant located in Plainview, Texas, can continue receiving re-employment services. "Many of those laid off continue to face great difficulty finding a job that will support themselves and their families," said Portia Wu, assistant secretary of labor for employment and training.
