The unemployment rate in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre metropolitan area rose to 6.2 percent in February, from 6 percent the month before, largely because the labor force - the number of people working or looking for work - rose by 1,500. According to a report released Tuesday by the state Department of Labor & Industry, among people who live in the area defined by Luzerne, Lackawanna and Wyoming counties, 900 more were working and 500 more were unemployed in February than in January.
