Protecting sources in the data retention age

On Thursday night the Senate voted in favour of the data retention legislation which means telecommunications companies will be forced to keep their customers' phone and internet records for two years. Media Watch has been criticised by a representative of the Media Direct whistleblower website over our program that provided advice for people wishing to leak information to the media without being traced.
