Geisinger hospitals top list of private employers in Luzerne

Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center has grown into the largest private employer in Luzerne County and the third-largest employer overall behind the federal and state governments, according to a list of the county's top 50 employers compiled by the state Department of Labor and Industry. The list shows Geisinger comes ahead of Amazon, which has a 615,600-square-foot building in the Humboldt Industrial Park, Hazle Twp.; Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Mohegan Sun Pocono in Plains Twp.
