Gov. Terry McAuliffe wants to train an extra 50,000 people in high-demand jobs skills by the end of his term, a feat he believes will make the commonwealth more attractive to growing businesses. By comparison, just over 53,000 workforce credentials were awarded last year in Virginia in the STEM-H skill sets the governor is targeting.
