D.C. library series looks at personal privacy in the digital age

The year 1984 is long past, but George Orwell's " 1984 " is enjoying another of its periodic revivals, due to recent revelations about U.S. government surveillance programs. So it was fitting that "Orwellian America? Government Transparency and Personal Privacy in the Digital Age" opened with an 11-hour marathon reading of the novel in the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library's great hall.
