WASHINGTON A Senate committee chairman has asked the U.S. Department of Labor to turn over reams of data dealing with its plan to impose a fiduciary standard of care on insurance agents and advisors. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., incoming chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said the data is needed to help his committee "better understand the DOL's plans and the process" through which it plans to change the standard under which advisors sell investment products into retirement plans such as 401 s.
