Keighley MP Kris Hopkins welcomes new protection for whistleblowers

He was speaking after the acceptance by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt of recommendations emerging from a review into the treatment of staff who raise concerns about poor patient care. Report recommendations include the appointment by every NHS trust of someone to support staff wishing to raise concerns, backed-up by a national independent officer who would assist the so-called 'guardians' should difficulties arise.
