Recent developments have shown how the confluence of health care and its ever-rising cost continues to wreak havoc on the bottom lines of both the state's private and public sectors. At the annual conference of the New England Employee Benefits Council, the commonwealth's major insurance providers indicated those costs are expected to increase by roughly 7 percent in 2015 - about double the goal established by the state just a few years ago.
