Syracuse sidewalk replacement controversy grows by a costly foot

On Wednesday evening the Common Council began looking into why the city was forcing many homeowners to pay more than $10-thousand dollars just to replace their sidewalks after Jim Kenyon exposed the situation in a Waste Watch report last month. Councilors say they were surprised to learn that the Mayor's administration is now requiring all new sidewalks to be five feet wide.
