In a letter sent recently to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Martin Luther King III requested the intervention of the Justice Department in legal issues surrounding practices in the housing finance industry that are obstructing federal and state efforts to assist struggling homeowners to avoid foreclosure, particularly in hard-hit communities of color with predominantly African American, Latino or Asian residents.
