Creating opportunities: Grant money would fund manufacturing training programs

A $15 million federal grant would allow community colleges throughout the state to provide the skills needed for New Yorkers to obtain a variety of manufacturing jobs. U.S. Sen. Charles E. Schumer said during a conference call Wednesday that he has encouraged the U.S. Department of Labor to award funding to community colleges in the State University of New York system.
