EEOC sues over discrimination

For the first time in its history, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has sued two companies for alleged discrimination against transgender employees. Florida-based Lakeland Eye Clinic and a Detroit funeral home called R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Homes fired employees for transitioning from male to female, the agency maintained in two federal lawsuits filed on Thursday.
