Marking the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

50 years ago today, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 into law. The White House held a special ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the most important piece of civil rights legislation in U.S. history.
