District to fund security officers at Manatee County elementary schools

With an additional $2 million now projected to push the fiscal year-ending fund balance to $6 million for the 2013-14 Manatee County School District budget, officials may add an armed security officer in each elementary school and two more full-time student resource officers to the secondary level for the 2014-15 year.
