Unemployment in Syracuse area dropped in March

Almost 2,000 fewer people were unemployed in the Syracuse area in March. According to data from the state Department of Labor released this afternoon, the unemployment rate in Onondaga, Oswego and Madison counties was 8.5 percent, down from 9 percent at the same time last year.The number of unemployed people fell from 28,800 to 26,900 over the ...
