West Hartford man sentenced for defrauding government

Troy Williams, 40, was sentenced to 21 months behind bars for fraudulently collecting unemployment and food stamp benefits, and billing Medicaid for work he did not do. The South Highland Street man pleaded guilty to unemployment compensation fraud, first-degree larceny by Medicaid fraud, making a false statement for the purpose of collecting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance benefits, and identity theft.
