Last month, New York federal District Judge William Pauley filed an order in a dispute between United Parcel Service and several members of a family who operated eleven UPS franchises in New York State. Judge Pauley spent part of his order discussing and resolving the various legal issues between the parties - and a lot of it complaining about the sheer size of the documents that the two sides' lawyers kept filing in his court.
