After more than a year of planning the most ambitious school improvement initiative in the history of the Port Washington-Saukville School District, officials will ask voters to answer the $49.5 million question during the Tuesday, April 7, election. Is that what taxpayers are willing to pay to create a "like-new" high school by rebuilding and renovating an antiquated facility and alleviate overcrowding by building an addition at Dunwiddie Elementary School? Port Washington High School, which dates to 1931 and has grown through a series of additions, the last of which was completed in 1975, is old and inefficient.
