Employee Benefits: The Registration Form For Transitional Reinsurance Program Fees Has Been Issued, and Must Be Submitted By November 2014 The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act created new fees for covered health plans, including transitional reinsurance program fees that are designed to stabilize premium increases that are expected to occur in individual health insurance markets as a result of the coverage of high-cost individuals. Health insurance issuers and self-insured group health plans offering major medical coverage that is subject to the TRP Fees are required to register for the first of the TRP Fees by November 15, 2014, and the first installment of the TRP Fees must be paid no later than January 15, 2015.
