Unemployment turns lower in Buffalo

The state Department of Labor said Tuesday that unemployment in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls market fell by more than a full point in August compared to a year ago. The preliminary figure put the area jobless rate at 6.1 percent, down from 7.2 percent a year ago.
