Hillshire, subsidiary of Tyson Foods settles hiring dispute

Hillshire Brands has agreed to pay $330,000 in back wages as part of a settlement with the U.S. Department of Labor over claims of hiring discrimination against 2,474 men in the company's Sara Lee division. The company will also make offers to 73 of those rejected applicants while paying interest and benefits to the entire class, as part of the settlement.
