GOP Rep Pleads To Benghazi Whistleblowers: 'We Will Protect You'

There are politicians in the GOP who may be sincere, on this matter, but how exactly can they protect them when The Regime is in charge of the country*? Please explain to me what powers a two term Representative has to assure ANYONE protection from ANYTHING let alone the US government.
