Kentucky bested the U.S. with January jobless rate

Kentucky's preliminary unemployment rate for January of 5.5. percent came in below the national average of 5.7 percent for the same month. As Kentucky continues its climb out of the economic recession, it has eclipsed the nation in at least one statistic.
