ResCare loses state contract, will lay off 40+ Memphis employees

ResCare Inc. will lay off roughly 40-45 employees in Memphis after losing a contract to oversee some state-run welfare services. Louisville-based ResCare, a leading national provider of services for people with disabilities, filed a notice with the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development in October that it will lay off as many as 137 employees by the end of December .
