Mandates to blame

Mayor Dayton King made the right decision in discontinuing the city's "oil and stone" treatment of city streets. We acknowledge the oil and stone effort was an honest attempt by Department of Public Works Director Kevin Jones to fix more city streets on a limited budget, but that attempt has resulted in dust clouds on city streets, dust settling on people's property and scratches to people's cars.
